Arts Council Funding

In November 2020 I received project grant funding from Arts Council England for: mentoring sessions; research time to develop my arts practice with the aim of becoming more professional; creating greater visibility for more work; help in understanding the art world more; help in understanding the business for making and promoting my art and the different opportunities available to me as a disabled contemporary sculptor; developing how my work is documented and seen by others; and for looking at researching and developing workshop ideas for the future. My aim is to promote myself in a better light and as an artist and sculptor in my own right.

For me, this is a great opportunity because I have the chance to work alongside and learn from experienced practitioners within the arts. I have been working as a freelance artist for many years and the award will allow me the time to re-examine how I work and my professionalism.
